Long time no anything. Sorry, but life happens. Or doesn’t…
This was a request from a good friend (Starr: A hugely talented artist and Dr. Who fan) and really made her wedding folio sing :p
Happy New Year.

Happy New Year.
A fantastic opening night for the ‘austrALIENation’ exhibition at BRAG.
The double feature of Walkabout and The Last Wave on 16mm was a great idea and the crowd of art lovers seemed to have a good time. Pizza and Popcorn didn’t hurt either. Thanks BRAG 🙂
Here’s some of the publicity around the exhibition:

What a difference 2 years makes…
It’s been a long time between posts and even longer between making work.
After welcoming baby Imogen to the fray this year, life has been a never ending roller-coaster and time is non-existent.
Having said that, 2014 is a new year and I look forward to once again focussing on that which irks me as I work on a new series.
The world has changed a lot and with the impending demise of establishments such as the QCP (Thanks to the Campbell Newman regime) I am going to make work that transcends ‘photography’. Photography is maligned by the public and gallery systems alike for it’s lack of aura, something that I can appreciate, even if I don’t entirely concur with.
To me, art is art and it’s what you are looking at and consuming that is more important, than where you see it or how it is made.
The thought, not the process, is what makes art great. If it is great art, of course.
Anyway, as HolyGreenCow approached it’s 5th year of existence and no longer qualifies as an Emerging Artist, the time is now to at least think about making art. In between changing nappies, tantrums and everything else that makes parenthood so much fun…
Thank you for reading.

Following on from the article in the Sunday Mail a few weeks ago, it seems that HolyGreenCow has experienced yet another 15 minutes of fame!
A recent visitor to the Queensland Centre for Photography in South Brisbane happened upon the ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told 2‘ exhibition and passed it along to a prominent (and distinguished) blogger in the USA. Many thanks for the kind words too!!
The self perpetuating nature of the internet and the irony that this work itself could become viral (kinda viral – 20,000 hits in 2 days) is quite amusing.
Even if the subsequent traffic crashed my site twice … The sales of the work have more than made up for it 🙂
Have a Happy 2013 Y’all.
Cheers!!

With only a few days left before the Mayan Calendar runs out, Sally Browne at the Sunday Mail has written a fantastic article about my current show in today’s Sunday Mail.
The Greatest Story Ever Told 2 is on at the QLD Centre for Photography until the 13th of January. Assuming the Mayans were just lazy and we will all still be here.
Since it was a day after HolyGreenCow’s 3rd anniversary on the planet, this is a really special way to celebrate!!
Cheers

Well, another year is over in the life of HolyGreenCow. It’s been a hectic but wonderful year and to finish it on exhibition at the QCP is awesome.
This last 12 months has been a gap year creatively, due to the relief at finishing Uni and the joy of getting to know Cordelia.
I’m pleased to be represented by my new commercial gallery Redcliffe Jetty Gallery, having made my first sales there in such a short time!!
A wonderful exhibition at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery was a stellar highlight, in a year that seems to have gone by in a flash.
Anyway, three years down and I’m looking forward to working on my new series for 2013…
Happy Birthday HGC!!
Just in time for the ‘End of the World ‘ ™. HolyGreenCow has made a big range of T-shirts available for Christmas (If the prophecy allows…)
There are a few examples above and these will all be available until the world makes it decision on it’s future…
Cheers

Just in time for the end of the Mayan Calendar, the QLD Centre for Photography will be hosting the first public exhibition of ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told 2’.
This series was completed late last year and was written as a look at contemporary pop culture in the guise of a Hollywood Bible Epic.
It is a wonderful coincidence for me to be showing this series at this time and I hope you can all get a long to see the work in the flesh. (Try to make it before the 22nd of December, just in case my telling of the prophecy is wrong…)
Many thanks to all who contributed to this epic work and I look forward to seeing you there with Jean and Cordelia in tow.
For more information on the work, please visit http://www.holygreencow.com
Cheers
