Openings etc…

August 23, 2010

Thanks to all those that attended the opening on Saturday night (Election night). It was a great night and from the feedback I got, it seems the series was really well recieved.

Was great to chat with Alison Kubler and Walter Stahl too. Alison Opened the exhibition and Walter was another of the artists.

Thanks again to QCP for selecting me and to the staff that made it happen so wonderfully.

It’s up for a month in the window of the QCP, so if you get a chance, check it out with the other great artists on show too.

Warning: the following photos contain self congratulatory themes…

From the catalogue for the exhibition by Yolande Norris - click to read.

With one of the stars of the series iMog - graciously permitting this photo to be taken 🙂

The launch of Holy Green Cow - Drinking white wine... Hmmm... Don't tell anyone.

The Blood of Christ

By way of celebrating the awesome Toowoomba news, I cracked open a bottle of something that seemed appropriate… and quite special.

Grant Burge  ‘The Holy Trinity’ 2002

and I saw that it was good. Amen.

A sign…

Now I kid you not… this vision appeared to me tonight at the bottom of my wine glass…

It looks distinctly like an angel. or a holy man… or something cherubic.

Yes it does.

It does.

Divine Inspiration.

The spooky thing is that this vision appeared within minutes of me finding out I had been asked to exhibit at the Brisbane Square Library next year!!!  (thanks to JME for passing on that info, it made my day!!!)

Uncanny? Holy? Inebriated?

I want to believe that this is a message from Pope Alice… To go forth and multiply.

Yes, yes I will…. Thank you Jeebus. You are so cool.

Who else in history has turned water into wine?

It’s a sign… I think I now know what the next series will be about. Huzzah.

And now for something completely different…

Divine Inspiration...

Went wine shopping yesterday and could not go past these three. Two are from the SOME YOUNG PUNKS winemakers in South Australia and I was lucky to buy the last bottle of ‘The Squid’s Fist’ Sangiovese/Shiraz that was there.

I love their style and from the reviews I have read, I think I’ll love their wine even more. Holy Green Cow thoroughly recommends you check them out…

The other bottle is from R WINES and I’m assured this is a BIG Shiraz. ‘ a wine that will body slam your tongue’ – let’s hope.

Obviously these labels fit right into the Holy Green Cow ethos, so it is a pleasure to bring them to you via this blog. After all, 97% of all my inspiration comes after quite a few glasses of red, so it’s only fair to start giving back  🙂
