Exhibition Invite !! Doesn’t it look cool !!

July 22, 2010

Here’s the Invitation to the QCP’s August exhibition and it features yours truly…

Hope to see you all there on the night. It’s my first major exhibition as Holy Green Cow and it’s quite an honour to have been selected for it.

The entire 11 images from the They Came series will be on display in the window on the road side. So don’t forget to pop outside and look  🙂

A sign…

Now I kid you not… this vision appeared to me tonight at the bottom of my wine glass…

It looks distinctly like an angel. or a holy man… or something cherubic.

Yes it does.

It does.

Divine Inspiration.

The spooky thing is that this vision appeared within minutes of me finding out I had been asked to exhibit at the Brisbane Square Library next year!!!  (thanks to JME for passing on that info, it made my day!!!)

Uncanny? Holy? Inebriated?

Yes.

I want to believe that this is a message from Pope Alice… To go forth and multiply.

Yes, yes I will…. Thank you Jeebus. You are so cool.

Who else in history has turned water into wine?

It’s a sign… I think I now know what the next series will be about. Huzzah.

Facebook…

Peer pressure and the like have made me cave in and get a facebook page.

Just wanted to share my latest purchases…

First:

Luke Roberts: Pope Alice Encounter series 2002

This is the SHIT!!

Holy Green Cow Loves this and I am soooo lucky to own this. Ah ite!!

I would love to meet Pope Alice. Holy Green Cow meets the Pope… Brisbane rules!!!

Pope Alice 🙂

Next is something that Jean and I have been after since before I started Uni… a Ray Cook.

This isn’t the one Jean was after, but you cant say no. Ray is one of Australia’s best Photographic artists and it’s his unique vision and humour that really appeal to me. Plus he has helped steer my art more than anyone. Even my psychologist…

Funny thing is he wouldn’t even know or care, but I have a really deep respect for Ray and his art. OMG this is starting to sound EMO… just look him up and see for yourself. Before I start trying to cut myself for attention.

Gigi by Ray Cook

Lastly, Jean and I were lucky enough to get this amazing work by one of our favourite people… Renata Buziak.

This is the second purchase of Renatas work, but that should just tell you that we love what she does…

Grevillia Intricate 8/9 2006

These three artists are among the best that this country has to offer, so these purchases are extremely gratifying. Go, buy your own art.

It’s good for the soul.

Remember this when the Holy Green Cow exhibition opens at the QCP in August….   🙂

And now for something completely different…

Divine Inspiration...

Went wine shopping yesterday and could not go past these three. Two are from the SOME YOUNG PUNKS winemakers in South Australia and I was lucky to buy the last bottle of ‘The Squid’s Fist’ Sangiovese/Shiraz that was there.

I love their style and from the reviews I have read, I think I’ll love their wine even more. Holy Green Cow thoroughly recommends you check them out…

The other bottle is from R WINES and I’m assured this is a BIG Shiraz. ‘ a wine that will body slam your tongue’ – let’s hope.

Obviously these labels fit right into the Holy Green Cow ethos, so it is a pleasure to bring them to you via this blog. After all, 97% of all my inspiration comes after quite a few glasses of red, so it’s only fair to start giving back  🙂

Cheers!!!
